Nanase (HIROSE Suzu) is a college student with grand aspirations to become Japan’s biggest rock star; a dream which she feels is unsupported by her father (TSUTSUMI Shinichi), a hard-working president of a major pharmaceutical company with whom she has a tumultuous relationship. In fact, Nanase frequently asks him to just “Drop dead!”. One day, while testing a revolutionary drug which causes temporary death, her father obliges. He is soon put in a perilous position when a premature cremation looms and it’s up to Nanase (with the aid of her father’s friendly ghost) to save his corporal version in time for the drug to wear off, allowing him to revive and prevent his company from being stolen.
HAMASAKI Shinji’s first feature film leads us on a barmy supernatural trip, turning the stereotypical love-hate relationship between parents and their children on its head in this entertaining race against time.
